Windows Eduroam Setup for Domain Devices

This article will cover eduroam setup for devices running Windows. Depending on your hardware and the version of Windows you are using, your setup process may look slightly different. We recommend installing all available system updates before you continue. This process should be the same for all University owned devices.

Remove previous eduroam

  1. Find the network connections icon in the system tray on your desktop. This is generally located in the lower right corner of the screen next to the clock. Click the small globe icon and select "Network & Internet settings". If you don't see any available networks, you may need to enable WiFi by disabling airplane mode or clicking on the "Wi-Fi" button below "Network & Internet settings".

  1. In the Settings window, select "Wi-Fi" on the left, then "Manage known networks" on the right.

  1. Under the "Manage known networks" list, select "eduroam" and then click the "Forget" button.

  1. You can close the Settings window and proceed to connecting to eduroam.

  1. In the task bar, search for and launch Control Panel and change to either large or small icon view. Once you have changed the view, select Network and Sharing Center.

  1. In the new window, select Set up a new connection or network.

  1. Select Manually Connect to a wireless Network

 

 

  1. Fill in the corresponding boxes with the information below and Select Next when done:
    • Network name: eduroam
    • Security type: WPA2-Enterprise

 

  1. You won't be connected to eduroam at this point because you'll need to point your login information to the network. Click on Change connection settings to proceed.

  1. Select the Security Tab

  1. Click on the Advance settings button.

  1. Check the box that says Specify authentication mode and verify that User or computer authentication is selected, then select OK.

  1. Click OK again and close out the opened windows. Go to your network connections icon in the system tray and select eduroam.

  1. A confirmation message will appear. Select Connect to continue.

Eduroam should now show as "Connected, Internet". You can now browse the web to verify connection.
